Mary Angela Bock is a PhD Candidate at the Annenberg School For Communication at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.   She has more than two decades’ experience as a media practitioner, primarily as a television journalist, but with bits of newspaper, radio and public relations mixed in.  Using field visits, interviews and case studies, she’s written about television as shared experience; television news coverage of court proceedings; and the potential of the internet to enhance the public sphere.  She is interested in the laws and regulations that affect photographer practice and the way it affects our visual understanding of the world.  Mary, her husband and two daughters live in Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA.
